History

Our business started out as general grocery shop in 1981. We have always sold ice cream, originally with soft ice cream.  Due to supermarket competion and the start of Sunday Opening, the grocery store could not stand-alone.  A firm from Hereford (RSS) gave us the idea of making our own ice cream.

After a few trips to Italy we decided on our first phase, which was a sixteen-pan cabinet and a small lab where we started to produce our ice cream – we ran the ice cream bar along side the shop.  Our product proved popular so we decided to expand the ice cream bar.

Our second phase was a 32-pan cabinet, along with a small seating area where we served desserts and coffees.  Demand for our product was growning further afield so we started supplying hotels, restaurants and cafes.

In 2003 we took the plunge and closed the grocery store and started our biggest refurbishment to date and concentrated solely on ice cream.

Our parlor now has a 42 cabinet display as well as displays for our 1-liter take home packs and ice cream cakes.  There are two seating areas where you can enjoy one of our many desserts or Italian coffees.
